During last week’s Practice Work Shop (PWS) Session, Tanisha Agarwal, Associate, led a discussion on “Does Keyword Advertising Result into Piggybacking on other Brands?” The session saw an insightful discussion on the benefits of keyword advertising and the concept of piggybacking.
The session also delved into whether such piggybacking has an adverse impact on competition in the relevant market. The session concluded with different views on whether there is a need to develop a threshold to decide what types of keyword advertisements lead to piggybacking.

Interns – Rahul Kumar Barnwal and Twinkle Madaan have commenced their General IP Internship with the firm’s law practice.

We hope their stay in the firm during the 4 week period of their internship will be mutually enriching and that the firm and they will learn exciting things from each other!

Mr. Tiwari is former Deputy Registrar of Trademark & GI with nearly 30 years of service in the office of the Controller General of Patents Designs and Trademarks (CGPDTM), Government of India. During his tenure, he was in charge for implementation of the Madrid System for international registration of marks in Indian IP office. He has also been instrumental in preparing the draft of amendments in the Trade Marks Rules, 2002 and the Trade Marks Rules 2017.

Patent Intern – Vipul Sharma (Final Year Intern) has successfully completed his Internship at ALG.
