During last week’s Practice Work Shop (PWS) Session, Sannidhi Mahapatra, Associate, led a discussion on “Does work from home model work well for IP law firms?”. The session saw an insightful discussion on whether the work-from-home model is more convenient for IP firms vis-a-vis other law firms. The session also delved into the advantages and disadvantages of working from home versus working from office. The session concluded with some intriguing ideas on whether law firms can permanently switch to the work from home model or would a hybrid system be more conducive for growth.

New General IP Final Year & Pre-Final Year Interns For July 2022

General IP Interns – Shawaiz Nisar, Bhuvan Mishra, Aakash Batra and Aditi Mehta (Final Year), Aayushi Singh, Teesha Seth and Sonal Kumari (Pre-Final Year) have commenced their General IP Internship with the firm’s law practice.

Legal Issues Seminar-General IP (LIS-GIP) On “Does Moment Marketing Violate Celebrities’ Personality Rights?”

A ‘Legal Issues Seminar – General IP’ (LIS-GIP) was conducted by Tanisha Agarwal, Associate, on “Does Moment Marketing Violate Celebrities’ Personality Rights?”. The seminar explored the concepts of moment marketing and personality rights, as well as the relevant rule under the ASCII Code. The session delved into the divergent views taken by courts on the issue and explored relevant judicial decisions in this respect. The session concluded with an interesting discussion on whether there is a need for a statutory amendment to recognize unauthorized promotional activities by brands which violate celebrities’ personality rights.
