The practice covers Patents, Trademarks, Industrial Designs, Plant Varieties, Copyrights, Cyber Law, Trade Secrets, etc. Employer currently has more than 60 members. Job Designation: Patent Agent / Analyst

Job Eligibility: A registered Patent Agent.

Work Experience : Not Mandatory.

Job Aptitude: Hired candidates will read and analyze patent documents including technical specifications, search and examination reports, prior art documents, non-patent literature, decisions of Controllers of Patents, and of Courts in patent infringement cases. This will include analyzing prior art in relation to inventions and technologies and whether that reads on to the claims of a given patent . Hired candidates will be expected to draft and write or amend Draft Patent Claims, Analytical Memos on statutory provisions pertaining to patents, Position Papers on the state of the art in a field of science and technology, Draft Responses to objections to grant of patent raised by Patent Examiners in Examination Reports, Draft Specification for patenting an invention or new technology, well-versed in interpretation of various provisions of the Patents Act, 1970, and the Patent Rules, 2003, etc.

Job Outlook: The candidate is someone who aspires to work in the area of Patents and get enrolled as an Advocate. On job training and guidance will be provided by two Partners at the firm who are both, herself and himself, registered Patent Agents (in addition to being enrolled Advocates) to the hired candidate to fulfill this aspiration.

Job Location: The firm has office locations in Delhi and Hyderabad. Due to exigencies such as COVID-19 type pandemics, candidate must be prepared to Work from Home (WFH) as and when necessitated, possibly for long periods.

Language of Working: English

Working hours: 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM on all full working days.

Working Days: Monday to Saturday for the 1st and 3rd week of every month, and Monday to Friday for the other weeks of every month are working, subject to any holidays.

Probation: Upon joining, Candidates will be under a probation of 3 months, which can be extended at the instance of the Employer only. During the probation period, the candidate will be provided training. The assessment during the probation period could be by way of performance, written tests, projects, presentations, work ethics, etc. The designation during this period will be ‘Trainee Patent Agent / Analyst’. Unless confirmed, the candidate’s stint with the Employer will come to an end at the end of probation period.

Confirmation: An intimation of whether or not the candidate is confirmed will be provided at least 15 days prior to the conclusion of probation period.

Full Time: This will be a full-time job, meaning availability for the full working hours and on all working days, subject to holiday and leave policy of the Employer. Upon joining it will not be an available option for the candidate to associate with any other commercial establishment.

If the candidate is pursuing or is about to commence any academic course or training program, the same needs to be disclosed upfront at the time of application.

Career Growth (Promotion to): Career growth in the employer LLP is also possible by change in cadre: by becoming a registered Legal Practitioner (enrolled Advocate).

Notice Period : 2 (two) weeks after confirmation.

Financial Compensation: 4.2 – 6.0 Lacs per annum (CTC)

  • Excellent knowledge of Indian Patent Laws.
  • Excellent technical skillset to understand and analyse a technology and explain it in simple written English.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and other web tools and applications.
