Legal Issues Seminar-General IP (LIS-GIP) On “Is A Website’s Content Relevant In Determining Identity Or Confusing Similarity Of A Domain Name?”

Featuring: Hardik Choudhary

A ‘Legal Issues Seminar – General IP’ (LIS-GIP) was conducted by Hardik Choudhary, Associate, on “Is a Website’s Content Relevant in Determining Identity or Confusing Similarity of a Domain Name?”. The seminar explored the concepts of rogue websites, cybersquatting and typosquatting in the context of a UDRP complaint. The session delved into the divergent views taken by panels on the issue and explored the extent to which the content of a website can be relevant in proving the identity or confusing similarity of a domain name. The session concluded with an interesting discussion on the relevancy of a website’s content for proving legitimate interest and bad faith.
